Calculated vs. reported: how we label our math

If we did the arithmetic, you should know it, and see the formula.

Most numbers on Franopolis are reported: they appear in the source exactly as shown. Some are calculated: we derived them from reported figures.

    Examples of calculated figures

    • Net unit growth over a period
    • Turnover share, built from transfers, terminations, and closures
    • The sum of royalty and marketing fee percentages

    How we label them

Calculated figures carry a "Calculated" label. Their source panel shows the formula and the reported inputs, each with its own citation, so anyone can redo the math.

    What we never calculate

We don't calculate projections, expected returns, payback periods, or anything that predicts how a future owner would do. Those would be forecasts, and the sources don't support them.
