When a franchisor reports no performance figures

Silence is a disclosure choice. It is not a hidden number to guess.

Franchisors may choose whether to make financial performance representations. Many do. Some don't.

What we do when there are none

The brand report says so plainly: this franchisor does not report financial performance figures. We don't estimate one, borrow one from a similar brand, or pull one from marketing material and present it as disclosed.

    What it doesn't mean

No figures doesn't necessarily mean poor results. It means the franchisor has chosen not to share them in its disclosure.

    What you can do

You can still ask current and former owners about their experience, and talk it over with an accountant. Fees, investment estimates, and unit movement are still reported and can still be compared.
